Â鶹Éç thrive

Supporting you from the very beginning

Â鶹Éç thrive

Â鶹Éç Thrive programs are delivered by the Student Wellbeing and Support team to help you ease into university life and start your journey at UC in the best way possible. If you’re keen to know more about the support you can access throughout your studies, or have concerns about your transition to university, Â鶹Éç Thrive is your first point of contact.

In addition to supporting students new to the university, Â鶹Éç Thrive works to improve the success of current UC students too.

Student mentor program

Our Student Mentor Program is designed to ease you into your study journey in a fun and supportive way. Your Â鶹Éç Student Mentor will provide individual support throughout your first semester, answering your questions and helping you make connections.

You’ll be matched with a Student Mentor studying the same or a similar degree – someone who’s had a similar experience transitioning to Â鶹Éç or who shares similar hobbies and interests.

You can apply to take part in the Student Mentor Program once you've accepted your offer to study at UC.

Connect with community

Throughout the year, we run a wide range of activities to support you to connect with your peers, with the Â鶹Éç community and with Canberra and the region - across Ngunnawal Country. Connect at one of our Wellbeing Walk and Talks, Wellbeing Crafternoons or join us as we go off campus exploring Canberra best Nature reserves.

We also run targeted international support programs and events including our Learn to Swim Program, free lunches, annual international gala and more

Student wellbeing and support

The Student Wellbeing and Support team offers care, support and connection to all students throughout your study journey.

We are a team of social workers, community outreach and engagement staff, and wellbeing support officers. We support students through safe, respectful and inclusive wellbeing sessions, individual consultations and drop-in wellbeing support in a non-clinical setting.
